Digitalizing artist royalty management for a music label

Garden Cactus Record (GCR) is a music label based in Germany, dedicated to promoting innovative talents in dance, deep house, chill, and pop genres. The project focused on designing an artist management system that centralizes royalty earnings across streaming platforms and reduces manual payout work.

Replacing manual royalty tracking with a clearer platform

GCR needed a proper platform to track royalty earnings and support artist cashout requests. The existing process relied heavily on manual work, including cashout requests through email and repeated payout calculations.

The music label side also had an earlier management platform, but its limited functionality made it difficult for admins to gain full control and visibility over artist earnings.

  • Artists lacked a proper platform to track royalty earnings.
  • Cashout requests were handled manually through email.
  • Label admins needed better management features for visibility and control.

Building an analytics-driven royalty workflow

The main goal was to digitalize the artist management process and reduce manual work for both artists and label admins. I mapped the core platform needs around analytics, cashout requests, record visibility, and future automation.

  • Provided an analytics-driven platform for royalty earnings.
  • Digitalized the cashout process to minimize manual work.
  • Designed management features that gave label admins greater control and visibility.
  • Planned toward future automation through streaming-platform integration and real-time data synchronization.

Design system and planning for a royalty platform

The planning work aligned artist needs, admin workflows, and product structure before the interface was refined. This helped the system feel more organized while keeping the business goal of royalty management clear.

A centralized royalty management experience

The final interface created a clearer foundation for artists and label admins to manage royalty earnings, cashout requests, and records in one place. It moved the product closer to the long-term goal of full automation across multiple streaming platforms.
